Site The site represents the curtilage of St Georges Mill, Glen Road, Laxey, which consists of a large two storey, detached property. The site is located on the eastern side of Glen Road
Land Use Zoning The site has been zoned under the Laxey and Lonan Local Plan as being within an area of Light Industrial Use, the site is also within a Conservation Area.
Planning History There are no previous planning applications which are considered relevant in the assessment and determination of this application.
Proposal The application seeks approval for the repairs to external platform and staircase.

Laxey Commissioners: No objection Highways Division: Do not oppose We have received no privately written representations objecting to the application.
Assessment / recommendation
The proposed works are very modest in size and will have little or no impact upon the existing building or upon the visual appearance of the Conservation Area, particularly as the alterations are to the rear of the site. The Conservation Officer has no objections. For these reasons the proposal would be appropriate in this location and therefore my recommendation is for an approval.
