Re: 08/00177/B – Extension to Shower Block, Southern 100 Headquarters, Red Gap, Arbory Road.
Dear Miss Corlett
In response to your email dated 18th March 2008 I have contacted Mr. Taubman and spoke to him about this development. I attended a site visit with him today to inspect the area and discuss the matter further. This proposed extension will bring the building closer to the river bank by some 3m which will leave approximately a further 3-4m of undisturbed bank-side vegetation. The Silverburn River and associated tributaries are recognised as important habitat for migratory salmonids, however having inspected the nature of the strip of land between the building and the river we are prepared to proceed with no objection subject to the following conditions.
No further development is to take place in this direction (i.e. towards the river), thereby maintaining the existing bank of approximately 3 metres and its associated vegetation etc.
During construction works every effort must be made to safeguard against water pollution to the nearby watercourse from any surface run-off and sedimentation.
Yours sincerely, Neil Milsom Executive Officer - Fisheries
