The present application is to partly replace windows and external doors at the above property. The present windows (and doors) are a mixture of timber and PVC-U, all are in a poor state. The timber windows are not double-glazed.
Mrs Moffett has met and discussed the replacement windows with Mr S Moore, Conservation Officer and his general recommendation was that the windows to the front, i.e. facing The Green should ideally remain as timber sliding sashes.
This recommendation has been implemented, also all replacement doors are timber and of a sympathetic pattern.
The remainder of the windows in the application are shown to be replacing existing PVC-U windows with windows of a similar material but the style has been changed to a more traditional pattern with centre mullions and side opening casements.
The majority of surrounding properties have already replaced the windows with PVC-U, but it is felt that the present application with timber windows to the front of The Green is the preferred solution.
