Strategic Policy 8
Strategic Policy 8 supports development in accordance with land-use zoning. The site is zoned residential under the Ramsey Local Plan, and the change of use principle was accepted as no physical changes are proposed.
General Policy 2
Requires development to respect site surroundings in siting, scale, design; not adversely affect character, amenities, road safety, etc. The officer assessed visual neutrality (GP2(b),(c)) and neighbour amenities (GP2(g)), finding compliance via the temporary condition.
Business Policy 13
Permits tourist accommodation in residential properties if neighbour amenities are not compromised. The trial period was applied to demonstrate no adverse impact, overcoming initial neighbour concerns about noise.
