Site

The site represents the curtilage of Thie Drommey, Cronk Ruagh, Lezayre, Ramsey, which is a two storey detached dwelling, located on the southern side of the A13 and west of Ramsey Town.

Land Use Zoning

The dwelling has been zoned under the Isle of Man Development Plan Order 1982 as being within an area of ‘Areas of Buildings for Civic, Cultural & Other Special Use’ (hospital); the site is neither within a Conservation Area, nor within an area zoned as High Landscape Value or Costal Value and Scenic Significance.

Proposal

The application proposes the installation of six roof lights.

The Authority has received no privately written representations objecting to the application.

Assessment / recommendation

The proposals are very minor alterations to the dwelling, which will have little or no impact upon the residential amenity of the neighbouring residential properties. Additionally, the proposal will have no adverse impact upon the visual appearance of the property. For these reasons I consider the proposals would be appropriate in these locations and therefore my recommendation is for an approval.
