In pursuance of his powers under the above Act and Order, the DEPUTY MINISTER for Local Government and the Environment, following report by the appointed person, does hereby APPROVE the application by the Department of Health & Social Security – Change of use from existing day centre and clinic to a temporary night shelter for a maximum of 8 beds and 1 staff bed, for a period of six months, Kingswood House, 3 Harris Terrace, Douglas, IM1 3PL, subject to compliance with the following conditions:-
- Subject to the other conditions of this notice, the proposed use of the building as a night shelter is for a period of six months ending on the 30th April 2009.
- That the use of the building as a night shelter shall not commence until a local liaison committee has been set up in accordance with a scheme to be submitted to and approved in writing by the Planning Authority.
- That food and drink may only be provided to staff and those service users accommodated in the shelter for the night following the evening period of food and drink provision, and for the night prior to the morning period of food and drink provision.
