Refusal Notice 07/01993/B
Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
Douglas Corporation Town Hall Ridgeway Street Douglas Isle Of Man
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Douglas Corporation Proposal: Creation of an open air storage compound at: Hardstanding To Rear Of Grandstand Nobles Park Douglas Isle Of Man
which was considered on 12th February 2008, for the reasons set out below. Date of Issue: 14th February 2008 Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas Deputy Secretary to the Planning Committee
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- The proposed open air storage compound would be contrary to the Douglas Local Plan 1998 in that insufficient justification has been submitted to support the introduction of a storage compound into an area of Public Open Space.
- The open air storage compound by reason of its siting, height and design would introduce a prominent and incongruous feature into an area of open space which will impact on the overall setting of the park to the detriment of the visual amenities of the locality.
This decision was made by the Senior Planning Officer in accordance with the authority delegated to her under Article 3(13) of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
