The Alteration and Replacement of Windows Circular 1/98 - Policy 6
Policy 6 requires that if original windows cannot be repaired, replacements visible from public thoroughfares must have the same method of opening, pattern and section of glazing bars, and frame sections as the originals. The officer assessed that the proposed hardwood timber sliding sash windows match these features of the originals, despite existing casement windows not being original. This compliance ensures no harm and actually enhances the Conservation Area.
