Site

The application site is Michael Community Civic Centre, Main Road, Kirk Michael which is located on the northern side of the Main Road and east of St Michael's Church.

Land Use Zoning / Policy

The application site is within an area recognised as being an area of `St Michael's Church', under the Kirk Michael Local Plan. The site is within Kirk Michael Conservation Area but not within an area zoned as High Landscape Value or Costal Value and Scenic Significance on the Isle of Man Development Plan Order 1982.

Proposal

The application proposes the installation of a replacement window. The existing window is a rotten timber window and the replacement would be a uPVC window with the same design within the north facing gable wall of the building.

We have received no privately written representations objecting to the application.

Assessment / Recommendation

The proposal would improve the current appearance of the property and therefore beneficial to the Conservation Area. I have discussed the application with the Conservation Officer who has no objection. For these reasons the proposal would seem appropriate in this location and therefore my recommendation is for an approval.
