Officer's Report
Planning approval is sought to construct an extension to the rear of the Graylaw Freight buildings adjacent to the Isle of Man Postal Sorting Office, Spring Valley Industrial Estate. The building would be constructed in material to match the existing building and provide workshop accommodation and truck/trailer store.
The Department of Transport Drainage Division advise of no objection subject to condition and the Chief Fire Officer Recommend consultation should planning permission be granted. Braddan Parish Commissioners advise that they approve the application. No comments have been received from the Department of Transport Highways Division.
The proposal is considered to be acceptable.
It is considered that the following parties, who submitted comments, accord with the requirements of Planning Circular 1/06 and are therefore, afforded interested party status:

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
C 2. This approval relates to drawing number 07/224/12 submitted as part of this application and date stamped 21st March 2007.
C 3. There must be No discharge of surface water (including that from roofs and paved areas) from this proposed development to any foul drainage system(s) so as to comply with the requirements of the Department of Transport Drainage Division and the Sewerage Act 1999.
NOTE The application states that the surface water from the proposed development is to be discharged to the "existing drainage". If this "existing drainage" discharges (directly or indirectly) to the foul sewerage system then it should be noted that an alternative means of surface water disposal must be provided.
C 4. For the avoidance of doubt, no approval is hereby granted or implied for works on land outside the ownership or control of the applicant.
N 1. The Department of Transport Drainage Division recommend that a petrol interceptor is to be installed so that no oil/fuel spillage from the workshop or the hard standing can drain into any public sewer or watercourse.
