General Policy 2
General Policy 2 sets general standards for development, particularly relevant for visual and amenity impacts (parts b and g). The officer assessed the proposal's massing, form, and design as tying in with the main house, resulting in acceptable visual appearance in the streetscene of traditionally styled dwellings. No side windows and obscure glazing condition addressed neighbour amenity.
Time limit
The development hereby approved shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this decision notice. Reason: To comply with Article 26 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2019 and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented planning approvals.
Obscure glazing on en-suite window
The first floor en-suite bathroom window in the extension hereby approved shall be glazed with obscure glass to Pilkington Level 5 or equivalent and permanently retained as such thereafter. ObjectionMy 3rd bedroom window in the gable end of my house will be overlooked by their new bedroom extension. I would like them to pay for my window to be bricked up, and plaster work made good both sides. Their window and my window would be too close for comfort when the new extension is built and will impinge upon our privacy.
Conditions requested: I would like them to pay for my window to be bricked up, and plaster work made good both sides
