THE APPLICATION SITE AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT The application site comprises the curtilage of Onchan Primary School on School Road in Onchan. The proposed development comprises of the installation of new windows in the school’s computer suite.

Planning History

Whilst the application site has been the subject of a number of previous planning applications it is considered that none of these are specifically material to the assessment of this current planning application.

Representations

Onchan District Commissioners recommend that the planning application be approved.

Planning Policy

Under the Onchan Local Plan the application site is designated as a primary school. There are no policies within Planning Circular 1/2000, the written statement that accompanies the local plan, that are considered specifically material to the assessment of this current planning application.

Assessment

It is considered that the overall level of development contained within the proposal is relatively modest and unobjectionable without undue impact on public or private amenity.

It is recommended that the planning application be approved.

Party Status

It is considered that all parties that made representations to the planning application meet the criteria of Government Circular 1/06 and should be afforded interested party status.
