Officer's Report
Planning permission was granted in October 2006 for further amendments to the previously approved scheme of re-building, refurbishment and change of use of the Viking Longhouse, East Quay, Peel, to form apartments.
This application seeks further amendments to the proposed roof lights, with large glazed areas of roof lights together with an additional number of small roof lights.
The roof is only seen within the wider streetscape context or when viewed from the headland or castle, and not within the actual street level. It is considered that the introduction of larger glazed areas is acceptable and does not detract from the overall re-development scheme or appearance of the building within the streetsce.
Peel Commissioners recommend that the application be approved and are accordingly granted Interested Party Status.
