Planning History
Representations
- Douglas Corporation โ no objection
- Highways Division of the Dept of Transport โ no comments have been received.
Assessment
- In the determination of this application I consider there is only one key issue and that is the impact on the visual amenities of the locality.
- In respect of the impact on street scene, the proposed flue would be industrial in appearance and will project above the front slope of the main dwellinghouse. I consider the flue would be out of keeping with the main dwellinghouse and would adversely affect the visual amenities of the street scene.
Recommendation
- I therefore recommend that the planning application be refused for the reasons above.
Party Status
The Department of Transport and the local authority are, by virtue of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005, paragraph 6 (5) (c) and (d), considered "interested persons" and as such should be afforded party status.
