Officer's Report
In 2005, an application was submitted for the installation and erection of new access steps, French doors and balcony to side elevation and new French doors and balcony to replace existing bay window to front elevation. This application was refused planning permission on the grounds that the removal of the existing bay window to the front elevation, installation of French doors and erection of a balcony would not preserve or enhance the appearance of the Conservation Area.
This current application is seeking permission for the works which were considered to be appropriate by the Planning Officer. The works are set to the rear of the building and do not adversely affect the character and appearance of the Conservation Area.
I therefore recommend that retrospective planning permission be granted.
