The property Laureston, Mooragh Promenade, Ramsey, is part of a row of five storey terraced properties which are located on the western side of Mooragh Promenade.
Land Use Zoning
The dwelling has been zoned under the Ramsey Local Plan Order 1998 as being within an area of residential and office use; the site is not within a Conservation Area.
Planning History
Installation of UPVC casement windows to replace existing - Flat 5 Viking House, Mooragh Promenade (06/01543/B) – under consideration.
Installation of casement and tilt and turn uPVC windows to replace existing - Flat 5 Isle of Alanis, Mooragh Promenade (05/01528/B) – approved.
Proposal
The application proposes the installation of UPVC top and bottom casement windows to replace existing uPVC windows. The application also proposes to reintroduce the half round head windows to the front elevation where appropriate.
Representations
The Ramsey Commissioners have deferred the application:- No objection.
Highways Division do not oppose.
We have received no privately written representations objecting to the application.
Assessment / recommendation
Given that a number of surrounding properties have already had uPVC windows installed and the reintroduction of the half round head windows I consider the proposal to be acceptable and recommend that the planning application be approved.
