Officer's Report
The Site
The site represents the domestic curtilages of two semi-detached houses situated on the eastern side of Erin Crescent, within the new residential development between Erin Way and Truggan Road. The two houses front onto Erin Crescent and back onto two detached houses which front onto Erin Way.
Planning Status
The site lies within a much larger area which is designated on the Port Erin Local Plan as Proposed Residential.
Planning History
The housing was approved under the provisions of PAs 98/1024, 99/1717, 01/1720, 02/2068, 03/0479 and 03/1219. Planning permission was then granted for extensions to each of the properties under PAs 04/00830 and 05/00319.
The Proposal
Proposed here is the replacement of the canopy-styles porches with fully enclosed porches finished in brick and tiles to match the main walling of the houses.
The change makes a very small difference to the appearance of the properties and it is to be encouraged that both property owners are undertaking the same works at the same time to preserve the symmetry of the main facade.
I do not consider that there is any adverse impact from this proposal.
Party Status
Port Erin Commissioners and Manx Electricity Authority are statutory authorities and as such should be afforded party status in this instance.
