Officer's Report

This application is proposing to site an agricultural building next to the existing buildings of Middle Kerrowglass Farm. The policy is generally to site such buildings next to existing groups of buildings in the countryside so as to limit the impact onto the visual amenities of the locality. To the west of the application is a public right of way. The building will be visible from this footpath. The building is set at a lower level than the footpath. The building will be colour coated green so as to blend in with the existing landscape. I feel consider the impact of the building on the visual amenities of the locality to be minimal taking into account the context of the site. I therefore recommend that planning permission be granted subject to conditions.

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.

C 2. This permission relates to the erection of an agricultural building as shown in drawing numbers 5353/1 date stamped 11th April 2006 (in part) and 638/1 date stamped 21st July 2006.

C 3. The building may be used for agricultural purposes only.

C 4. All box profile and colourcoat sheeting must be dark green in colour.
