The Site
The site represents the domestic curtilage of an existing dwelling situated on the western side of the Main Road and to the south east of the A5 Bridge Road in the heart of Ballasalla.
Planning Status
The site lies within an area designated on the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982 as Existing Residential use.

The following applications have been submitted in respect of this site:
PA 91/0627 – approval in principle for extensions and landscaping - permitted<br/> PA 91/1004 - extension to form recreation room and landscaping - permitted<br/> PA 93/1555 - construction of new garden boundary wall - permitted<br/> PA 00/1494 - erection of a conservatory - permitted

The Proposal
Proposed here is the replacement of an existing two storey flat-roofed annex with a pitched roofed, wider rear annex finished to match the existing dwelling. There will be two new traditionally proportioned windows in the rear elevation which faces south west within a walled rear garden/yard. There is already an existing building in the rear yard between the main house and its neighbour, 35, Silverburn Drive. There are already windows on both levels in the rear elevation of the property.

Malew Parish Commissioners is a statutory authority and as such should be afforded party status in this instance.

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
C 2. This permission relates to the alterations and extensions shown in drawings 498/004, 498/005 and 498/006 all received on 26th April, 2006.
C 3. The external finishes of the extension must match those of the existing building in all respects.
N 1. The Chief Fire Officer recommends the installation of mains wired interconnected domestic smoke detection.
