Douglas Drainage Services Response
The Secretary to the Planning Committee Department of Local Government and the Environment Murray House Mount Havelock DOUGLAS
12th April 2006
Dear Sir
ISLE OF MAN PLANNING SCHEME (DEVELOPMENT PLAN) ORDER 1982 PA 06/00465/B – proposed Chill Store Unit, Isle of Man Creameries
Douglas Corporation acting as The Agent for the Department of Transport, under the Sewerage Act 1999 has no objection to the above application.
Note
There must be NO discharge of surface water (directly or indirectly) from this proposed development to any foul drainage system(s) so as to comply with the requirements of the Department of Transport Drainage Division and the Sewerage Act 1999.
It should be noted that it is an offence under Manx legislation to permit the discharge of polluting or harmful matter to any public sewers or watercourses. Appropriate measures must be taken by the developer / occupier of the premises to ensure compliance with the legislation.
It is a legal requirement under the Sewerage Act 1999 that the Department (as the drainage authority) be advised, in advance, of the date of the connection onto the public sewer.
The applicant is required to contact the Drainage Division prior to work commencing on site to discuss this proposed connection. In the event that this application is approved I should be grateful if these comments could be incorporated into the approval notice. Yours faithfully
MR PETER A.E QUIRKDRAINAGE SERVICES MANAGER
Cc P. Quirk / Director of Drainage / File / Planning File / Assistant Borough Engineer
