Officer's Report
The site represents the curtilage of Castle Rushen High School which sits on the southern side of Castletown and within an area designated as Education and Playing Fields on the Castletown Plan approved by Tynwald in 1991.
Proposed here is a series of alterations to the external fabric to create accesses which are usable by disabled persons. These take the form of ramps with handrails and in some cases the replacement of existing doors. In one case, there is an existing access served by steps and where there is inadequate space for a ramp and handrails. The main building is a mixture of modern and flat roofed structures which will not be adversely affected by the proposed ramps and handrails.
