Officer's Report
The application proposes the installation of an uPVC white Viscount 1 Georgian Bar door to replace existing timber framed door at 113 Castlemona Avenue, Douglas, which is part of a row of terraced properties within a residential cul-de-sac. The property is not in a Conservation Area.
The Douglas Corporation have considered the application and have no objection. We have received no privately written representations objecting to the proposal.
The proposal would seem appropriate in this location as the existing door is leaking and swelling which prevents the applicant sometimes from opening it. There are also many examples of similar white uPVC doors along Castlemona Avenue and therefore would match well within the street scene. My recommendation is for an approval.
