Officer's Report
The application proposes the replacement of existing rear kitchen window and door with a single window, and installation of a uPVC oak style casement windows to replace existing to rear elevation windows at 23 Kensington Road, which is part of a row of terraced properties (end terrace) within a Conservation Area.
The rear kitchen window and door will be removed as well as block work and a wider window of 2.3 metres will be installed, blocking up part of the existing door way. The rest of the windows on the rear elevation will be replaced with uPVC oak style top opening casement windows.
The Douglas Corporation have considered the application and have no objection. We have received no private written representations objecting to the application.
The proposal would seem appropriate in these locations, although the property is in a Conservation Area, the rear elevation is only of limited interest as it is only seen from the back lane, the proposal would seem acceptable. My recommendation is therefore an approval.
