Officer's Report
The application proposes the installation of uPVC windows to replace the existing landing windows to the side elevation and replace two windows to the rear elevation (ground floor and first floor) at Ardery, Somerset Road, Douglas, which is part of a pair of semi-detached properties within a Conservation Area.
The rear windows will have the same design detail as existing which will match the front elevation windows which had Planning Approval (04/00821/B). The landing window design on the side elevation of the property will alter, with the installation of a plain window frame with no openings etc.
The Douglas Corporation have considered the application and have no objection. We have received no private written representations objecting to the application.
The proposed windows would seem appropriate in these locations and will no have a detrimental affect upon the property or that of the Conservation Area, and therefore my recommendation is for an approval.
