Officer's Report

The planning application seeks approval for the change of use of a shop in Laxey to office accommodation.

In terms of representations to the planning application there are no objections to the proposed use.

In terms of planning policy under the Laxey and Lonan Plan the application site is within a mixed use area that is zoned as residential, retail and office. As reflected by policy L/COMM/PR/3 the revised Laxey and Lonan Plan takes a more relaxed approach to office development within this area and I am satisfied that the proposed use accords with this policy. Accordingly, I recommend that the planning application be approved.
