Officer's Report
The application proposes the installation of a uPVC casement windows and uPVC door to replace the existing bedroom window, front and rear dormer cheeks and front door and remove kitchen window and install French doors at 2 Tennis Road, which is part of a pair of semi detached properties within a Conservation Area. The property at present has uPVC casement windows on the front and rear elevations.
The existing front door of the property which is currently a white door is proposed to be replaced by an uPVC door (APA1 see brochure) which has a timber look finish and will be green in colour.
The front and rear dormer cheeks, which are currently timber framed will be replaced by uPVC framed windows as well is the rear bedroom window, which is replacing an existing uPVC window.
The French doors are to be installed to the rear elevation which will replace the existing uPVC kitchen door (same width as kitchen door, no brickwork to be removed).
The proposals would seem appropriate in this location especially the rear elevations alterations and the front cheek dormer alterations as they are not prominent features on the street scene. The front door will is the most prominent feature in the application again would seem to be acceptable as the proposed door is in a traditional style and will have a timber effect. Therefore my recommendation is for an approval.
