Officer's Report
The application site is situated on the western side of Laureston Grove. The application site is set within a predominantly residential area. The application site is not within a Conservation Area.
The proposal is to install a further velux window on the front slope of the roof. I do not feel the introduction of a velux window of a further velux window would look out of character within the street scene. I therefore consider the proposal would not cause any significant harm to the visual amenities of the locality.
Due to the orientation of the building the proposed velux windows will be partially visible from the street scene. However, I do not feel the rear velux windows will cause significant harm to the visual amenities of the street scene.
The proposed replacement window is in keeping with the rest of the windows on the front elevation. The applicant has taken into account the existing features of the property and allows the replacement window to preserve the character and appearance of the building.
