Applicant Window Replacement Statement
18 Michael Street Replacement Window Application
Existing Windows
Front: Wooden secondary glazed with 'pepper-pot' holes that have been drilled through the wooden casing by a previous owner to stop condensation forming, however this causes drafts and is very noisy with the road being so close to the property. The windows have been designed to look like sash but actually tilt inwards from the top.
Rear: Casement single glazed which are rotting beyond repair and also let a great amount of heat escape from the house due to the windows not sealing properly.
Proposed Windows
Front: New wooden painted double glazed windows that are traditional sash opening. The design will match the existing windows (please see photographs) only differing because they are double-glazed and sash opening
Rear: Again the rear windows will follow the same design as the existing windows (please see photographs) and made of wood but again will be double-glazed.
