Officer's Report
The site represents the domestic curtilage of a relatively new semi-detached house situated within the new estate being developed between Erin Way and Truggan Road.
Proposed here is the extension of the driveway fronting onto the estate road, to accommodate additional parking. The area concerned is slightly sloping and grassed. It does not contribute particularly to the amenities of the neighbourhood as it presently appears. There would appear to be a slight difference in level between one side and the other and it should be clarified at the higher end how the difference in level alongside number 5 will be accommodated.
The applicant has provided further information in respect of this difference in level: a small trough will be provided to take account of the difference (around 0.17m) as an extension of the existing boundary wall further back on the site.
This is now acceptable and there are no objections to the application.

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
C 2. This permission relates to the creation of additional hardstanding as shown in the drawings and plans received on 13th June, 2005 and the sketch received on 29th June, 2005 showing a small upstand of wall to take account of the difference in level at the boundary.
C 3. There must be no discharge of surface water to the main foul sewer.
I confirm that this decision accords with Government Circular No 57/01 (Delegation of Functions to Director of Planning and Building Control).
