Officer's Report

The application seeks approval for the siting of a mobile classroom to the rear of Dhoon Scholl in Maughold.

Following discussions with the applicant the need for the proposed classroom has been explained. DoT Highways Division have objected on the grounds that there is insufficient details to assess the application and that it should be accompanied by a school travel plan. Given the scale and nature of

the proposed development I consider that there is sufficient information and that the DoT's grounds for objection are insufficient to form grounds for refusal.

Given that the classroom will not be readily visible I consider that its temporary approval for five years would be acceptable.

C 1.

The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.

C 2.

This approval relates to drawing no.s Dhoon/01 and Dhoon/02 date stamped the 15th April 2005.

C 3.

This approval is valid for a period of five years from the date of the positioning of the mobile classroom, after which date the mobile classroom must be removed unless there is by then in place planning approval for a further period.

C 4.

There must be no discharge of surface water (including that from roofs and paved areas) from the development to any foul drainage system(s).
