Officer's Report

The application seeks approval for the installation of replacement uPVC casement windows in a detached dwelling in Laxey.

Laxey Village Commissioners have objected on the grounds that they consider sliding sash windows should be installed. Given that the dwelling is outside the Conservation Area, set back from the road, already has some casement windows and a number of the surrounding properties have uPVC windows installed I would suggest that a refusal may not be sustainable. Accordingly, I recommend that the planning application be approved.
