Officer's Report
This application relates to the large detached mill building now converted to offices at Nunnery Mills, Nunnery Mill, Old Castletown.
The proposal is to replace the existing wooden and glass door with a upvc oak coloured half glazed door.
The society for the Preservation of the Manx Countryside and Environment comment that the new door is no worse than the existing and therefore they have no objection.
The building is not in a Conservation Area and although old and historic the building is not currently a registered building. The proposed new door is not ideal given the age and character of the building but neither is the door it replaces, and it is considered that the impact will be minimal and therefore it is acceptable. The Conservation Officer had been consulted and agrees that since the building is not currently registered it is acceptable.
