Town and Country Planning Acts, 1934 - 1991
Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982
Mr P Ward 34 Hillberry Heights Douglas IM2 7BN
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Acts and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mr P Ward Proposal: Garage extension with bedroom over to side elevation and a single storey kitchen extension to rear elevation at: 34 Hillberry Heights Douglas IM2 7BN
which was considered on 12 May 2005, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 19 May, 2005 Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas Secretary Planning Committee
Reasons For Refusal:
- The proposed extension would, by virtue of its proximity, height, and length, have an adverse impact on the adjoining dwelling.
- The proposed extension would, if approved, establish a precedent for further such extensions, which, if repeated, would result in semi-detached buildings becoming terraced buildings; such a change would affect adversely the appearance and character of the area.
- This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 of the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982.
