Officer's Report
The application seeks approval for alterations and extensions to a two-storey detached dwelling in Jurby. The proposed development comprises of three elements:
- A single storey extension to the side and rear of the dwelling to provide additional habitable accommodation;
- The installation of wooden sliding sash windows to replace the existing casement windows; and
- The erection of a detached garage with alterations to the driveway and entrance.
In respect of 1. I consider the extension to be relatively modest and in keeping with the character of the existing dwelling. In respect of 2. I would suggest that the proposed windows accord with the
provisions of the Planning Circular. In respect of 3. I consider the garage to be an appropriate size and suitably positioned and the revised entrance to improve the existing arrangement. Accordingly, I recommend that the planning application be approved.
