Officer’s Report
The application seeks approval for the change of use of an existing second floor office on Parliament Street into a domestic ironing service centre.
The Department of Transport Highways Division have objected to the proposal on the grounds that there is no inclusion of parking arrangements for customers and the operator. The applicant has responded to this objection, see letter of the 17th February 2005. I consider the use to be acceptable within this location and do not believe that the operation will give raise to any activity that is greatly different to that of other town centre shops. Accordingly, I recommend that the application be approved.
