In pursuance of powers granted under the above Acts and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:

which was considered on 1 July 2005, for the reasons set out below.

Reasons For Refusal:
- By reason of their material and style the proposed windows are considered to be out of keeping with the building and to detrimentally alter the character of a Registered Building contrary to the provisions of Policy RB/5 of Planning Policy Statement 1/01. Accordingly, the proposed development is unacceptable.
NOTE The applicant is advised to discuss the provision of appropriate windows with the Building Conservation Officer and that as the building is a Registered Building, grant assistance may be available for suitable work under the Historic Building Conservation Scheme 2000.
NOTE This review has been considered by the Planning Committee on written evidence. Any additional submissions not previously circulated to interested parties are enclosed herewith.
