Officer's Report
The site comprises of a terraced house in Summerhill and is within the Douglas Promenade Conservation Area.
Approval was granted in October 2004 for the installation of replacement upvc casement windows and refused for the replacement upvc front door. (PA 04/01663/B)
This application is for the replacement of the current alluminium and glass front door by a pvc door in blue with a semi circular fan light at the top. Whilst a wooden door would be preferable, this is an improvement on the current door and in this particular location is consider to be acceptable. The Conservation Officer would have found a wooden door and slightly different style more acceptable, but has no objection to the proposal.
