The site relates to Chibbanagh Farm which is between Braaid and Stugadoo.

A new agricultural building is proposed which would be sited adjacent to the existing building group.

The land slopes down towards the road (A26) and the site is visible from this highway and also the Clannagh Road to the south and the Foxdale Road to the north. I visited the site in July and advised that site levels would be helpful. I went on explain what I meant by this and explained that we would probably be happy with a section drawing showing the height of the proposed barn in comparison with the height of the adjacent barn. The applicant did not seem sure at the time what was going to happen to the earth banks surrounding the round bales which make up the site and this was why such advice was given and why such information was requested in letter form on 20th September.

I was not aware that Sarah had also given advice in my absence. I have noted her comments and still judge that the potential visual impact of the barn warranted clarification of the levels being sought.

I do however have no doubt that there is a need for this shed which is 36.7m in length by 13.7m in width and 5.5m in height and that this is a reasonable position for site.

Mr Watterson has suggested according to Sarah Corlett that it is the intention to level the site and mound the soil behind the building. A reasonable condition may be to suggest that the 'the floor plate of the barn must be no higher than that of the adjacent barn' which may at least ensure that the impact is minimised.

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
