Planning Statement
28th. April, 2021 Hampton Court, Quines Hill, Port Soderick, Isle of Man, IM4 1AZ Dear Sir/Madam,
My family and I were lucky enough to purchase Hampton Court in December 2020. We have been longing to live at Hampton Court for many years, I had wanted both my parents with us so I could look after them in their frail years.
Redacted Redacted
. My mothe in such sad times.
I have two horses and they mean the world to me. One is a very special boy, a thoroughbred, Ex racehorse. He ran 33 races and was placed most of those races. I have retrained him and compete, he has won everything he has entered.
The need for facilities is paramount, he is a thoroughbred who needs cover. He can be dangerous In high wind and therefore the need to apply for an indoor arena. We need to be able to train in a safe environment which being undercover not only ensures our safety but also the well being of the horses. The isle of man weather isn’t the kindest for many months, even in summer, horses as such need to be undercover to escape biting insects and flies.
The arena and stables will be for my sole personal use, to provide a safe environment for me and my four legged friends. The low pitch, use of natural materials, low carbon footprint using solar energy where possible, tree coverage and foliage around the structure will make it easy on the eye, not a huge carbuncle which some truly are. Being close to the house is another necessity again for safety, late night checks and stormy weather etc.
I am also adding another horse to my collection, he will join us once the building is finished. He is a retired police horse from the London mounted section of the Met. We are truly blessed to be able to give him the safe forever home he deserves.
I love my horses and only wish them all to live in the finest safest home.
Yours sincerely, Sally Oliver (Mrs.)
