The proposal is to install new signage and replace the existing doors with bi-folding aluminium doors. The installation of the signage is the result of consultation with the applicants and is there for acceptable. The replacement of the existing painted timber doors with aluminium bi-folding doors is unacceptable. We note from the application that no mention is made of why the doors need replacing. If the bi-folding doors are intended to offer automatic access, could this not be attained by fitting automatic door openers/acres to the existing doors? Signed: D. W. Officer’s Report
The site represents the Manx Co-op on the corner of Church Hill and New Road where Arnold's Stores was previously.
Proposed here is the installation of signage across the frontage of the building and above the door on the corner. This will be in the position of the previous signage but longer and painted with external illumination in the form of brass overhead lights.
Also proposed is the installation of bi-folding doors on the corner, replacing a more traditional doorway. This is not considered acceptable due to its appearance.
