Officer's Report
The site relates to Ballaleigh Farm, Kirk Michael. The farmhouse is sited next to the minor public road between the A4 (at a point to the north of Glen Mooar) and the A3 T.T. Course.
The farmhouse itself is a traditional cottage with a cat slide roof and a single storey flat extension to the side. It is proposed to build above the side extension. The property has lost some of its character by the installation of large window apertures and there would be no aesthetic improvement by stepping the extension back from the front elevation. There are in any case, large agricultural sheds to the rear of the dwelling, which detract somewhat from the setting of this building.
