Policy OS/P/1 St John's Local Plan
Policy OS/P/1 states that other than those areas specifically designated for development or zoned predominantly residential on the proposals map, no areas of open space shall be developed. The site is zoned as 'Open Space' and the chalet represents unwarranted development in the countryside. The officer assessed that even with screening, the tourist use would adversely affect character due to potential tree removal pressures and domestic activities.
