Officer's Report

The site represents the curtilage of the Dhoon School which lies to the north of Glen Mona and which has recently had extensive alterations to provide additional car parking, additional classroom space and better access from the A2 coast road.

Now proposed is the erection of a storage shed to be located at the entrance to the site behind the newly created roadside hedge. The hedge is around 1.5 m high whereas the shed is 2.05 m high and 1.71 m by 1.80 m . It will be seen over the roadside hedge. No supporting information has been provided to suggest why the shed is proposed or why it needs to be in this location. I will try to obtain more information. 10.02 .04 .

An amended plan has been received which shows the shed at the back of the site well out of public gaze. The shed is for the storage of groundsman's equipment. This is now acceptable.

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.

C 2. This approval relates to the erection of a shed as shown in drawing reference Dhoon/01/A received on 13th February, 2004 and the diagramatic and photographic information received on 22nd December, 2003.

C 3. The shed must be finished in a dark green colour or the green shown in the submitted photographs.

I confirm that this decision accords with Government Circular No 57/01 (Delegation of Functions to Director of Planning and Building Control).
