Onchan Local Plan 2000 Policy O/RES/P/20
The policy states that permission will not generally be forthcoming for extensions or conversions which result in the loss of parking space behind the building line. The proposal failed this test due to the garage conversion removing such parking with no adequate replacement provided. Onchan District Commissioners and the Planning Committee applied this strictly, rejecting the applicant's offer to widen the front drive as it would harm the front garden visually.
