We have been in discussion with Ellis Brown regarding the re-instatement of the hall timbering. We are happy to endorse these works on the basis of re-instatement of a historic detail which is without doubt an enhancement to an otherwise blank section of Cable on the building street facade. The site comprises the curtilage of the former Rechabite Hall, now an architects' office, at the corner of Allan Street/Fair Street. 2. The building is registered, and the site is within Phase I of the Urban Regeneration Area. 3. The application seeks planning approval and Reg'd Building consent for alterations to the central gable facing Allan Street. The proposed "half-timbering" would, apparently, restore the original appearance. 4. The appearance would be attractive and more interesting. Refer to S. Moore for comment on authenticity/detail.
