Dear Sir,
Re: P/A 03/00238/B – ERECTION OF SUN LOUNGE TO REPLACE EXISTING PORCH AND CONVERSION OF PART OF STONE BARN TO LIVING ACCOMMODATION, BALLAGORREY BEG, GLEN MONA, MAUGHOLD.
The plans for the proposed development have been inspected and the Drainage Division of the Department of Transport requests that the following comment(s) be passed to your Planning Committee: -
NO OBJECTION In principle subject to: -
1) There must be NO discharge of surface water (including that from roofs and paved areas) from this proposed development to any foul drainage system(s) so as to comply with the requirements of the Department of Transport Drainage Division.
The application states that the surface water from the proposed development is to be discharged to the “existing drainage”. If this “existing drainage” discharges (directly or indirectly) to the foul sewerage system then it should be noted that an alternative means of surface water disposal must be provided.
2) It is noted that the proposed barn conversion is not to be connected to the public foul sewer, however if the applicant does install a foul connection to this dwelling in the future a drainage communication fee will be payable and the Division must be advised prior to any work being carried out.
In the event that this application is approved I should be grateful if these comments could be incorporated in the approval notice.
Yours faithfully,
Ian Wade Assistant Engineer Development Control
