Reasons For Refusal
Application Ref No: 03/00269/A
- The site is not designated for development and as such the erection of new dwellings as proposed would be an unjustified departure from the Department's policy against development in the Island's countryside. This policy has been reflected in both decisions taken in respect of other proposed developments in this area and in the case of the proposal for the replacement of "Seacroft" (PA $01 / 1658$ ) where the Committee required that the new dwelling encroach no further toward the Manx Electric Railway than the existing curtilage.
- The proposed dwellings would be visible both from the Manx Electric Railway and the wider area to the north and would constitute sporadic development in the countryside.
- This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 of the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982.
