Highways Comments:
The proposal is acceptable in terms of highways.
The Strategic Plan 2016 parking requirement for a single dwelling is two spaces. The existing drawings indicate
the provision of a garage space and two driveway spaces. The proposed plans would replace the garage for
additional interior living space and extend the driveway to provide three parking spaces. The proposal meets the
Strategic Plan 2016 parking standard.
Visibility of 2.4m x 43m has been provided from the new driveway space. This is at an acceptable level for the
street and speed limit on it.
The alteration to the highway, in the form of dropping kerbs, requires a Section 109(A) Highway Agreement to
be made post planning consent.
The proposal raises no significant road safety or highway network efficiency issues. Accordingly, Highway
Services raise no objection to the proposal subject to the condition that the access arrangements, including
visibility splays, accord with drawing titled ‘site and location plan’. An advisory for a Section 109(A) highway
Agreement to apply too.
