Onchan Local Plan 2000 Policy O/RES/P/20
Requires at least three parking spaces per dwelling and generally opposes extensions or conversions resulting in loss of parking space behind the building line. Officer found strict application unreasonable as two spaces retained, supported by Highways, outweighing the loss of garage parking.
Policy O/RES/P/21 of the Onchan Local Plan (Planning Circular 1/2000)
Extensions and alterations to existing residential property will generally not be opposed where appropriate in terms of scale, massing, design, appearance and impact on adjacent property. Proposal complied as it has little effect on public and private amenity.
General Policy 2
Permits development in accordance with zoning if it respects site/surroundings, provides amenity standards including parking, and does not adversely affect road safety. Proposal met criteria including safe access, adequate parking/manoeuvring, and no adverse amenity impacts. Paragraph 8.12.1 presumes in favour of extensions in built-up areas without adverse impacts.
Time limit
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.

This approval relates to the location plan and drawing no. MA2 date stamped the 15th October 2009.
