This policy states that residential development will generally only be approved in designated residential areas, and alterations/extensions to existing properties may be accepted if sympathetic to the character and appearance of the building and surrounding area. The officer assessed the driveway alterations as minor works fitting within the residential curtilage with limited visual impact, thus sympathetic to the locality.
General Policy 2
This policy permits development in accordance with area plans if it respects site surroundings in siting/layout/scale, does not adversely affect amenity/road safety/access/parking, and has no unacceptable highway effects. The officer confirmed compliance via limited amenity impact, no highway concerns, adequate manoeuvring space, and minor tree loss not harming landscape character.
Time limit
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
